| So I went to mass this morning, sat down, and asked myself, "where's my seatbelt?" That's when I knew it was too early. Hahahah. Only Holy Family celebrates Simbang Gabi at 5:00am...gotta love it. But anyway, that's not the reason for the updation. It was what struck me from the homily. From what I could understand during the homily (as about 92% of it was in Tagalog), Father Tino said that you make your own interpretation of it. If you took it literally, then you wouldn't have to forgive the person that's hurt you 7x70+1 times. He also asked, "What's the center of the Bible?" Psalm 118:8. Check it out. The Lord is. The center, that is. How? Well, according to Fr. Tino's interpretation, here goes: - So, Psalm 118 is the literal center.
- It's in between the shortest and longest of the psalms. A
- lso, Psalm 118 has 594 chapters before it and 594 chapters after it.
- Add 594 +594 = 1188.
- If you go to Psalm 118:8, it says, "It is better to take refuge in the LORD, than to trust in man."
Father Tino was funny. He said, "That's cute, huh?" He also said the Bible was sexy. Hahahah. But yeah, the Bible. The GPS of our lives. It'll take us where we want to go. Read it. Interpret it. Love it. |
